OUR HISTORY
The vision of THE GRACE TRYBE (formerly known as house of grace ) began in the latter part of the year 1997. The decision to start the ministry was taken in September 1997 God told us clearly ” Nobody has the patent to God … go help my people become all I created them to be and all they want to be in me ….. “
The first service of the then house of grace was held on the last Sunday of November 1997
at our residence on the outskirts of lagos with about 20 people in attendance including our gate man and his six children . The rest they say is history .
The church has since grown from that initial 20 people to thousands with ministry arms ,branches, campus fellowships , cell site churches ,missions outreaches within Nigeria and outside the country. It’s been a walk of faith ,hope and love .
A dynamic church of influence, demonstrating the virtues and excellence of Christ, breaking boundaries and walls, releasing people’s potentials to be all they were born to be.
To raise a people who are His expression.
Our Statement
We believe that the Bible is inspired, that it is Infallible and that it is authored by God; and that it is the handbook by which human life can be successfully lived as God designed.
We believe according to the scriptures that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, bringing grace and truth and that the way to know the will and the mind of God now is by that which His advent accomplished.
ABOUT OUR PASTORS
Pastor Jane Pela and Rev. Omar Akpona Pela are a remarkable couple leading The Grace Trybe formal known as House of Grace Church. Pastor Jane, as the associate pastor, possesses a multitude of talents as a worship leader, songwriter, preacher, and accomplished author. With a wealth of over 1,042 worship songs, she epitomizes excellence and wholehearted devotion in serving the Lord.
Rev. Omar Akpona Pela, the visionary founder of House of Grace Church in 1998, is dedicated to transforming individuals into God’s expressions. His compassion for pastors and missionaries extends beyond his own ministry, generously supporting them. With his humility, integrity, and authorship, Rev. Omar serves as an exemplary leader. Together with his wife, Jane, they nurture their three children while continuing to impact lives through unwavering commitment to God’s service.
Our Core Values
Our core values can be seen in the acronym REAL, which stands for Righteousness, Excellence, Accountability and Love.
Righteousness
We are committed to doing the rightness of God
at all times. 2nd Corinthians 5:21 says that we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

We are called to display the virtues and
excellence of God. 1st Peter 2:9
Accountability
We are a people of faithfulness, loyalty
and accountability. Luke 16:10
Love
The love of Christ has been lavishly spread in our hearts by the Holy-Ghost, Romans 5:5
